The 5 Star Convention Hotel # 1 with its 302 Guestrooms, Front & Back of House areas has a Total GFA of  approximately 45,170 m² including the Lower Ground Car-Park. 

The Project site includes extensive development to accommodate the associated guest traffic and service functions with road lighting and utility infrastructure. A separate multi-level Energy Centre provides central chilled water for the complete OCEC facility and for future, nearby 4-star Business Hotel and this 5-star Convention Hotel.

Paramount considerations for the Client are:

• The ability to source materials and equipment from  within Oman

• The ability to hire and train Omani Nationals for positions throughout all phases of the  project, and

• The ability to process as many goods and services locally to ensure maximum benefit to the local economy.

Environmental sensitivity and sustainability are further critical requirements for this Project. As a high-profile Government-owned facility, this Project is required to set an example for other projects  and  has been designed to be constructed to LEED “Gold” Standard.
